Iranian feature film ‘Houra’ wins award at the 20th Golden Elephant in India.

Iranian feature ‘Houra’ wins an award at the 20th edition of the International Children’s Film Festival India (ICFFI), The Golden Elephant 2017, in India.

Produced and directed by Gholamreza Sagharchian, the movie won the Best Feature award at the Adult Jury of the event’s Asian Panorama Feature section.

‘Houra’ narrates the story of a rural teenage boy, Hadi, who lives with his family in the desert margins of Tehran-Mashhad railroad line. Hadi tries to keep alive a garden, which is the only legacy of his mother’s past.

The flick has so far attended a number of international children film festivals in India, Germany, Norway, Istanbul, Canada, and South Korea.

The CFSI is a nodal organization of the Government of India that produces children's films and television programs in a variety of Indian languages. CFSI promotes films which provide healthy and wholesome entertainment for children.

Since 1979, CFSI has hosted 19 International children's film festivals, called Golden Elephant, every alternate year. Outstanding features, shorts, live action and animation films are screened over a period of seven days of festive celebrations, attended by children and film personalities from India and abroad.

The festival was held on November 8-14, 2017, in Telangana, India.
